Product Description
RMBIO Bovine Transferrin is a blood plasma iron (Fe3+) binding glycoprotein. Appearance is a reddish brown complex – lyophilized powder.This highly purified transport protein is ideal for media formulations requiring consistent and well-defined supplements. The product is purified from either domestic (U.S.) or Australian/New Zealand sourced bovine raw material using RMBIO’s validated chromatography extraction process. The final product is provided in a liquid or lyophilized powder form.The liquid solution is aseptically bottled with a 0.2 µ filter. The lyophilized form has a bioburden level ≤ 1 CFU/g.
Applications
- As a source of bioavailable iron, an essential growth nutrient within mammalian cell culture without iron toxicity;
- As an integral component of serum-free or serum-reduced media.
