RMBIO’s thrombin from bovine plasma has a wide range of applications and is offered as a freeze-dried product.

Bovine thrombin is an enzyme that activates factor XIII and converts fibrinogen into fibrin. Therefore, its primary use is in the defibrination of plasma to produce serum matrixes to be used as controls and standards.

  • 60k-200k US units/mg protein determined by coagulation assay using NIH standard (Lot K)
  • Lyophilized powder
  • Utilized in clotting studies, as a coagulation protein, and in antibody production.
  • Final solution is filtered aseptically through 0.2 µm filters prior to lyophilization
  • Raw material primarily sourced from the U.S. Australia/New Zealand origin material available upon request.
