DMEM-002: 1X, High Glucose, With L-glutamine, With Sodium Pyruvate, With Pyridoxine HCI
Widely used for mammalian cell culture, Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium (DMEM) is a modification of Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) that contains a higher concentration of amino acids and vitamins, as well as additional supplementary components, such as D-glucose.
DME-BBZ-XXX-002 (the X's vary depending on bottle size) contains a high D-glucose concentration of 4500 mg/L, 584 mg/L L-glutamine, 4.0mg/L pyridoxine hydrochloride, and 110 mg/L sodium pyruvate. Important considerations when selecting a nutrient medium are: cell type, culture type (i.e., monolayer, suspension, clonal), and the degree of chemical definition necessary. It is important to review literature for recommendations concerning medium type, required supplementation, and physiological parameters required for a specific cell line.
Storage/Stability
The liquid medium should be stored at 2-8°C away from direct sunlight. Deterioration of the liquid medium may be recognized by:
(1) Precipitate or particulate matter throughout the solution
(2) Cloudy appearance
(3) Color change
(4) pH change
The nature of supplements added may affect storage conditions and shelf life of the medium. Product label bears expiration date.
